Pricing

Clear Pricing. Professional Service. No Surprises.

AIA separates the fee for the actual notarial act from the mobile professional service required to travel to the client and complete the appointment.

Your complete price is confirmed before your appointment. No surprises when we arrive.

Mobile service begins at $45 and varies by service location. Notarial acts are charged separately at up to $10 per act in accordance with Alabama law.

How AIA Approaches Pricing

AIA does not compete by being the cheapest provider. Pricing reflects professionalism, time, convenience, travel, vehicle cost, coordination, and the quality of the client experience. Mobile convenience should never cause AIA to lose money on an appointment.

A mobile notary appointment involves more than the few minutes spent completing a notarial certificate. It may include scheduling, preparation, travel, identity verification, appointment time, recordkeeping, and return travel. AIA structures pricing to provide professional mobile service while keeping costs clear before the appointment.

State-regulated notarial-act fees are kept clearly separate from AIA mobile, travel, and professional-service charges. Clients should understand what they are paying for before an appointment is confirmed.

Alabama law

Notarial Act Fee

The fee for the actual notarial act is governed by Alabama law and is separate from AIA’s mobile service.

Notarial Act Fee A reasonable fee of up to $10 per notarial act, subject to Alabama law.
  • The notarial-act fee is separate from AIA mobile, travel, and service charges.
  • The number of acts depends on the documents and notarizations actually required.
  • AIA does not determine which legal documents a client should use.

AIA Mobile Service Structure

These are starting mobile-service amounts, not guaranteed final totals. The exact quote is confirmed before AIA travels. Mileage is not calculated automatically.

Local Mobile Service

Alabaster and close local area

Starting at $45

For nearby home, office, and agreed-location appointments where travel is short and coordination is straightforward.

Nearby Mobile Service

Pelham / Helena and surrounding communities

Starting at $60

For appointments just beyond the closest local area, still within a practical same-trip radius.

Extended Metro Service

Hoover / South Birmingham

Starting at $75

For longer metro travel, denser traffic, and appointments that require more time on the road.

Birmingham / Broader Metro

Longer Metro Birmingham travel

Starting at $95

For broader Birmingham travel where distance, timing, and return trip are a larger part of the appointment.

A starting mobile price is not necessarily the final quote. Starting amounts cover the mobile professional service for a typical appointment. They are not a notarial fee and do not replace the notarial-act fee. The exact total is provided before AIA travels.

What Could My Appointment Cost?

These are illustrative examples, not automatic quotes. They use the approved starting mobile fees plus the Alabama notarial-act fee of up to $10 per act. Your confirmed price may differ based on location, documents, timing, and coordination.

Example 1

Local Alabaster Appointment

One notarial act at a home in the local Alabaster area.

  • Mobile service: starting at $45
  • 1 notarial act: up to $10
  • Example total: approximately $55
Example 2

Hoover Office Appointment

Two separate notarial acts at an office during the workday.

  • Mobile service: starting at $75
  • 2 notarial acts: up to $20
  • Example total: approximately $95
Example 3

Senior Living Appointment

A family coordinates a visit for an elderly resident. AIA does not automatically charge more because the signer is elderly or because the appointment occurs in senior living. The mobile fee follows the applicable travel zone.

Additional cost may apply only if the appointment actually requires unusual coordination, extended wait time, difficult access, substantially extended appointment time, or special timing. Those items are discussed before confirmation.

  • Mobile service: starting at the zone for that community
  • Notarial acts: based on what is actually performed
  • Extra cost only when the visit itself requires it
Example 4

Multiple Signers / Family Appointment

Several documents or signers during one coordinated visit.

  • Notarial acts are based on acts actually performed
  • One mobile fee generally applies to the coordinated visit
  • Extended appointment time or unusual complexity may change the final quote
Example 5

Church / Organization Service Day

Coordinated service-day or recurring relationship pricing may be available because several appointments can be handled efficiently during one visit. That is efficiency-based relationship pricing, not a generic discount.

Example 6

Professional Signing Assignment

Professional signing work is quoted separately from ordinary general-notary service. Title companies, lenders, signing services, attorneys, and professional partners receive a quote based on package size, printing, scanbacks, travel, timing, return or shipping requirements, and assignment complexity.

Special Appointment Considerations

Most appointments fit the structure above. A few circumstances can affect the quote without turning the experience into a surcharge menu:

  • Evening or weekend request
  • Urgent or same-day request
  • Extended travel
  • Lengthy waiting time outside AIA’s control
  • Parking or tolls when material
  • Large group appointments
  • Printing or scanback requirements for professional signing assignments
  • Unusually extended coordination
If an appointment involves special travel, timing, coordination, or professional-signing requirements, those costs will be discussed before the appointment is confirmed. The client is never surprised by an undisclosed fee at the appointment.

What These Prices Mean

  • The mobile fee is not a notarial fee.
  • Notarial acts are charged separately, at up to $10 per act subject to Alabama law.
  • A starting mobile price is not necessarily the final quote.
  • The exact total is provided before AIA travels.
  • Special travel, timing, or coordination is discussed before confirmation.
  • You are never surprised by an undisclosed fee when we arrive.

Organizations and Relationship Pricing

AIA can create a different service structure for organizations because one trip can often serve several people. This is efficiency-based relationship pricing, not cheap pricing, and it is not a promised discount.

Who this can serve

Senior living communities, churches, businesses, nonprofits and community organizations, and professional partners.

Possible models

Individual referral, coordinated appointment, multiple-appointment visit, scheduled service day, or a recurring relationship.

What stays the same

Each signer still completes their own notarial act under applicable requirements. The organization relationship does not change identity, willingness, or document boundaries.

Pricing FAQ

Why is there a mobile service fee in addition to the notarial fee?

The notarial-act fee covers the notarial act itself, subject to Alabama law. The mobile service fee covers the professional work of bringing AIA to you: scheduling, travel, vehicle cost, appointment time, and the client experience around the act.

Is the mobile fee charged per signature?

No. Mobile travel is generally shared within a single appointment. Notarial-act fees are based on the acts actually performed.

Will I know my total before the appointment?

Yes. Your complete price is confirmed before your appointment. No surprises when we arrive.

Does AIA charge more for multiple signers?

Notarial acts are based on what is actually performed. The mobile portion is generally one trip. Extended time or unusual coordination may affect the quote and would be discussed in advance.

What happens if the signer cannot complete the notarization?

AIA cannot guarantee that every requested notarization can be completed. If applicable requirements cannot be satisfied, the appointment may need to pause or end. Travel and mobile service already incurred may still apply when that was discussed as part of the confirmed arrangement.

Are evening or weekend appointments available?

They may be available depending on schedule. If timing is outside ordinary hours, that is discussed before the appointment is confirmed rather than added as a surprise at the table.

Are senior living or hospital appointments priced differently?

They are priced by location, travel, time, and the work required—not because the signer is a senior or a patient. Additional coordination is quoted only when it materially affects the visit.

How are loan signing assignments priced?

Separately from general notary work. Professional signing assignments consider package size, printing, scanbacks, travel, return or shipping instructions, timing, and complexity.

Can churches or organizations arrange service for multiple people?

Yes. A coordinated visit or service day can be more efficient than several separate trips. AIA may use a relationship structure for that work. It is not a promised discount.

What if I am outside the normal service area?

Additional Alabama locations may be considered. Those appointments receive a custom quote based on travel and assignment requirements so mobile convenience does not cause AIA to lose money on the trip.
